In one of the strangest weeks this year for the US box office, Straight Outta Compton is knocked from the top the chart by TriStar’s religious drama War Room. The film, which is still not set for release in the UK, took over $16 million last week. Robert Redford drama A Walk in the Woods entered the chart in second place, pushing Compton down to third.
Other new entries include The Transporter Refueled and Mexican animated movie Un Gallo con Muchos Huevos – proving a somewhat unprecedented demand for Spanish language cinema in America, a demographic practically ignored by mainstream studios.
Inside Out also rose back up the rankings to eighth place, pushing American Ultra, Ant-Man and others out of last week’s top ten. See the full chart below, and click on the titles for more.
