US Film Chart 2015: Week 33

Perhaps the surprising new number one at the US box office last week was Dr. Dre biopic Straight Outta Compton. The film, which features an original soundtrack by Dre, opened to a decent $84 million, pushing Rogue Nation down to second with just under $25 million in its third week.

The only other new entry to make the chart is Henry Cavill’s The Man from U.N.C.L.E which takes a reasonable $19 million but has all the signs of a film that will drop significantly next week. Fantastic Four, despite the criticism, holds out in fourth and Trainwreck is just hanging in there in tenth place.
