The mega release of Jurassic World took last week’s box office to the best of the year by a clear $80 million. The dinosaur sequel took over $296 million on its own, just in the states and obviously goes straight to the top of the charts. The film now sits at an impressive $640 million worldwide after just one week. Jurassic World is the only new entry in the top ten.
However, the Brian Wilson biopic Love & Mercy, starring the brilliant Paul Dano, has just crept into the chart with a decent £2.4 million in its second week. Meanwhile, Aloha is quickly slipping down and Poltergeist has also been vanquished.
Though most would expect a few weeks at the top for Jurassic World, Pixar’s Inside Out has done a solid $30+ million on its first day, so next week’s chart will be interesting.
